Nunu and Jadyn were born 1 day apart. Even though they are not related, these two friends have been celebrating their birthdays together, as if they were twin sisters!

This year, we celebrated the girls’ birthday party on November 5, 2012. It was Jadyn’s actual birthdate.

November 5, 2012. A gloriously sunny Monday afternoon.

Thank you Geraldine for letting us use your home for this celebration!

Grandpa Dave made a huge delicious fruit salad.

Aunty Laraine made healthy vegan kale salad! Scrumptious!

This photo was originally taken by Kathy Posatiere. Nunu has suggested that I add these roses to decorate it. Do you like it?

The poolside cabanas were perfect setting for our puppet show! I could come early and set up the show and keep the whole stage curtained in secrecy until showtime!

Nunu, Anichka and I performed a traditional Chinese Fairy Tale puppet theater.

Our homemade puppet show audience…

Meanwhile, Jadyn, Deege and Anichka carried banners announcing the start of the puppet show.

We waited for Michaela to come before we start the show. Suddenly, Arieta told us Michaela did not have her phone with her today.

So, Lily suggested we all used group telepathy to get her to come quickly and safely.

Alas! We started the show without her. She came one and a half hour later! (She had to work) Everyone’s happy to see Michaela, always!

Nunu started the puppet show by playing a Russian piano piece, “Little Waltz” by Anatoly Liadov.

You know, I do enjoy watching the faces of the children as much as the children enjoy watching the puppet show. When I see their little faces full of thoughts, questions and emotions, it made all my crafting work worthwhile – Jzin, November 21, 2012.

After the puppet show, we had cake.

Poolside party in November, Californian style.

The children get to pick out starfishes, sea shells and other ocean treasures as momentos of this special day.

Happy memories…

It was lovely to see everyone!

Thank you all for the wonderful day!
