Yesterday was my first appointment with the short man with the firm handshake in charge of group home for children with autism. I realized that the reason group homes can take multiple children with severe behaviors is psychotropic drugs. I was told they will not take a child who has not first tried a list of psychotropic drugs. Thanks to that statement, we are sticking to Plan A. Keeping my firstborn home. If you know of home renovation grants that can keep children with special needs home with their families, do tell. Plan A (keeping my 11 year old special child home with us, yet keeping the siblings physically and mentally safe) will work. I will learn how, along the way.
