Wednesday, November 28, 2012. 9am – 11am.

After taking a week of rest for Thanksgiving break, we were gathered again today to craft. Today we made handmade leather bracelets and other crafts, mostly in preparation for our upcoming Winter Festival for our school.

For a $5 supply fee, we each made one bracelet for ourselves and one for the Elves’ Workshop.

Thank you Rachel Skelly and Christine Newell for organizing our craft morning.

This year, Winter Festival will be held on Saturday, 1pm – 5pm, December 8, 2012. The children will have a special opportunity to go inside the “Elves Workshop” to pick out their choice of handmade gifts, without being accompanied by their parents. These children will “pay” for their selections with raffle tickets.

What I was Crafting Today…

Last night, Eli from Brazil told me she wanted an Apple Cake table top puppet dolls set for her 5 year old students. I love this story! We performed our first homemade puppet show for my daughter for this story. You can see pictures from our show here: Apple Cake by Nienke van Hichtum homemade puppet show. Perhaps you will be inspired to make your own table top puppet show?

A peek into Jzin’s craft box. Just starting to needle-felt head! Standing next to my needle-felting foam was our original “old woman who took a fancy one day to eat an apple cake”.
