Today Christine Newell showed our craft group how to needle-felt a swan on a lake.
This is craft from Marga Donker’s tutorial in Living Crafts Magazine, Spring 2011 edition. Marga is a member of our community at the Waldorf School of Orange County. She and I overlapped some courses in Foundation Studies. Her family moved back to the Netherlands.

Christine brought in a drum carder for the felters to mix colorful rovings. Josephine and Jeanine needle-felting drum carded wool roving for the ponds.
Kathy’s swan. Her 3rd grader proudly brought it to school next day to show her friends and teachers her mother’s beautiful handwork. How sweet!

Josephine has been busy needle-felting this picture for her daughter.
She loves the Peace Fleece wool batting because it gives the pictures more body such as seen in the pink flowers on the top left corner.
