Bopomofo ㄅㄆㄇㄈ Mnemonic Worksheets for Children 注音符號助憶鍵
Learn Bopomofo ㄅㄆㄇㄈ/ Zhuyin Fuhao 注音符號 with these fun, simple and free mnemonics 注音符號助憶鍵 worksheets, created with love by me, for your little ones!
December 21, 2011. YAY! I finally completed this project in less than 1 year! Using awesome Waldorf Education methods for learning, I made mnemonics worksheets for people on this planet to learn Mandarin Chinese Phonics (“Bopomofo”/Zhuyin Fuhao). With one look, you will always remember the phonics symbols, no more rote writing of each symbol a gazillion times in your exercise books! This resource is free for you! Please click “like” on my facebook page (see top of sidebar) and check back again. I will add sound later when I learn how to.
Learn and memorize zhuyin fuhao by drawing pictures! I have lovingly prepared some mnemonic worksheets for you! Click on each worksheet to download a PDF version for printing. To view and print the entire collection of PDF worksheets on this page at once, click here. Please note, this is a 40 page PDF file of the worksheets below.
I hope these worksheets make you smile. The happier you are, the better you learn and retain the memory of the learning exercises.

What do I do with all these loose worksheets? Here is a an “Ancient Chinese Book Binding Craft for Children to Teach Your Child a Reverence and Love of Books” tutorial (Please Follow Me on my blog and check back after Christmas for this tutorial).
Thank you Chris Bennett of the Waldorf School of Orange County, California for the inspiration to create these picture learning materials!

December 20, 2011. Hooray! I have completed ALL the zhuyin fuhao mnemonic worksheet pages!!!
I have worked on these pages over the year to make learning Bopomofo/Zhuyin fuhao fun and easy for my first grader. No more rote memorizations. When we engage our children’s emotions (with something funny or something they can relate to), they will be more open to learn. I also hope that by one look at these pictures, the children will have a solid memory of each symbol. For instance, once a child knows that “ㄇ” mo has the picture for “妺妺” / little sister, they will not make a mistake identifying that symbol again because their drawing has to fit the symbol. Also, since drawing is so much fun, children may be enthusiastic to do their work.
Please leave me a comment below if you like these zhuyin fuhao worksheets, if you find typos, or if some of them can be improved. I realize some may be harder for small children to draw, but I do love to watch my child’d best efforts and emulation. Regarding the children’s drawings, perfection should not be the key but the joy of learning and effort to draw them are important.
May your children learn with gusto. Thanks! – Jzin

Amazing… Sigh.
These are cute. Thanks!
These are awesome! Can’t wait to see the rest. Where did you get them?
Thanks Patrick for the encouragement! We (me and my 6 year old) make them up as we go along. I thought this is a fun way for kids to learn drawing and zhuyin fuhao at the same time. Once children have a picture of the zhuyin symbols in their minds, these images will stay around for a long time. You may “Join me on this site” (icon on top left of this page) on my blog to check back on more worksheets!
Great! Thanks for sharing your hard work!
Wow! These are wonderful! I will definitely keep encouraging you if this is the result!

Sigh! I should have thought of that!

It makes me so happy to know some children out there are enjoying my work! May you always have the joy of learning!
I am a nearly fifty-year-old gentleman from USA who has a Taiwan-born wfie. Your pages will definitely assist me in my continuing education of bopomofo.
Of course, she is my wife, not “wfie”.
Thank you very much! I am self-teaching myself Zhuyin Fuhao and your hard work has helped me tremendously!
