In December 2012, I was inspired by wonderful, soul nourishing tales in “The King and The Green Angelica”, stories and poems from Old Norse and Anglo-Saxon times collected and arranged by Isabel Wyatt and Joan Rudel.
The stories in “The King and The Green Angelica” will appeal to both boys as well as girls. Titles in the book include “I Hear My Son’s Sword, Said Vermund”, “The Beggar-Prince and The Two Wild Brothers” and “How The Old Hero Won The Duel With The Nine.” Great tales!
I recommend deliciously wonderful Old Norse tales such as “How the Prince Won his Wife/ Is Prince Amleth Witness” (perhaps one of my favorite stories) in The King and The Green Angelica, collected and arranged by Isabel Wyatt and Joan Rudel.
January 16, 2013. At our weekly Wednesday morning at craft group get together. Checking for final touch ups before photographing the dolls.
January 16, 2013. Photo taken in the Waldorf School of Orange County playgroup courtyard.
Will these two dolls be your Snow White and her Prince? Will he play your Prince Amleth and she, the Princess Trudie? Add wings, halo and a sword, he could be Saint Michael at Michaelmas. What other stories could they appear in? Do share with me your favorite fairy tales in the comment box below!
