Here is a tutorial I found online by Clay Burnett for a slightly different pine-needle basket than what we made today.

Jo-Ann always look so elegant.
JoAnn’s handwork resting by some fresh, premium, long, pristine green pine needles hand-harvested by her from the residential greenbelts of Irvine.
Mommy and baby love! Katherine adoring her mommy! Long, beautiful pristine pine needles harvested by Jo Ann on the pristine green belts of Irvine. I shared that I had wanted to be a Catholic nun, a sister of the poor, when I was grown up. My aunt, Sister Margaret-Claire de Marie whom I admire, is a Catholic nun in Montpellier, France. As a young child, I saw that my aunt led the old tenants of her convent in doll-making workshops, to increase hand flexibility. The handmade dolls from the convent were so beautiful! There birthed my love for doll-making which was pushed aside for decades for other things in life. Christine said, “My, aren’t we having a nice conversation here!”

I brought in my handmade mermaid (left) sold at our Waldorf School of Orange County auction this past weekend. The winner of the auction has requested that I change the hair color (original: dark golden curls on the left) to match the hair color of the lucky girl who would be the new owner of the doll (final color on the right). I sell handmade mermaids on my Castle of Costa Mesa Etsy store here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/Castleofcostamesa
