Tuesday morning, October 29, 2013.
On this chilly October morn, our craft group gathered outdoors under the gazebo in the garden of The Company of Angels school store at 8:45am for our weekly craft group get-together.
Christine Newell showed the craft group how to make “Embroidery on a bag”. We would create a design on a bag and work a chain stitch along the design lines. This is a Grade 4 Project at the Waldorf School. Materials fee for the “Embroidery on a Bag” project was $8.
Some of us worked on last week’s craft project, making “Baby in a Knitted Blanket” and “Making Knitting Needles”. I was out with my boys last week and therefore absent from craft group.
To secretly hide my shoddy knitting skills, I brought my dazzling stash of many colored roving and needle-felted some gnomes. My dear pal Anička joined in with me so I had company.
Thank you Rachel Skelly and Christine Newell for organizing our Waldorf School of Orange County weekly craft group get-togethers! – Jzin

Needle-Felted Gnomes
Recently I came across Lee’s most wonderful needle-felted gnomes. I love how she uses a variety of natural curls and crimps of animal fleece to create a group of gnomes with highly interesting looks and strong characters. Each one seems to have his own personality. They are a hoot! Christine gave me some interesting looking raw fleece (Thank you!) which I washed, now I was inspired to needle-felt some dwarfs myself as well.

They are a lot of fun to make. The brown/silver variegated curly beard for this guy below is made from Border Leicester locks from Fiberinfusions on Etsy

Many of you were asking the whereabouts of Rachel. She has been busy working at the Company of Angels these days. She has also been mosaicking. Here is her recent work, just grouted…
