A toadstool cottage sits in the edge of the woods. Inside it, lives a loving gnome couple. During the day, they bask in the joy of each other’s company. At night, the cottage glows (a flameless tea light candle hides inside it) to light your sleep of happy dreams. The toadstool cottage is wet-felted using resists. It is embellished by needle-felting. The finger puppets: a boy and a girl gnome are needle-felted.

• Ages: Children ages 9 and older (we will be using barbed felting needles)

This class is taught in 2 sessions:

• Day 1: Tuesday, July 14, 2015. 9:30am-12pm (2.5 hours). Prepare cottage, make 1 gnome.
• Day 2: Thursday, July 16, 2015. 9:30am-12pm (2.5 hours). Embellish cottage, make the gnome’s sweetheart.
• Location: Piecemakers Country Store, Costa Mesa, California
• Fees: $50 plus $20 supplies fees

Jzin Teng, a biochemist/ cancer researcher by training, a patented inventor and the full-time mother of 3 fantastic children, is just a big, happy child at heart. She enthusiastically anticipates each day with wonder and inspiration to create. She loves making dolls, crafting the world for them and experiments with creating new ways of crafting. She writes the weekly craft group blog for The Waldorf School of Orange County.
