Pulled-Wool Roving Angels

I practiced making pulled-wool roving angels, in order to teach this craft to craft group in May 2024.

It is fun to try out different braids and hairstyles.

Tying and making pulled-wool angels is a meditative process for me. It is enjoyable.

Making little dolls like this is soothing to me, like the mothering and fussing over of little children

After this enjoyable practice of making dolls, I boxed 20 of these angels up to donate to the children at Waldorf School of Orange County 2024 Winter Festival Elves Workshop. Children will get to buy them with pieces of paper tokens at the Elves Workshop room.

I also made some in plain white natural wool roving, and others in colors, for the 2024 May Faire Festival.

Here I am in pink posing in front of my Castle of Costa Mesa booth with my dear friend, Waldorf assistant handwork teacher Miss Joy in white.

This child picked a roving angel with bunny in her arms.

May 30, 2024 Craft Group Day

I taught our Waldorf Craft group this fun craft.

Ririko who was flying back to Japan that day, stopped by to make a fairy before she left the continent!

I brought some examples to share with the students.

Dione made a gorgeous angel for her little daughter.

Vanessa made this pretty, fluffy angel for her daughter.

What a joyful sight to see mothers tenderly making dolls for their beloved children! I was so happy to be a part of it.

One of my fairies, made a few years ago. She has gone to live with a little girl.

Come join our craft group!
