Gisela Added A Sweet Little Cottage In The Woods
So delicious, I could eat this up!
The front door opens and closes!
Top view. Such a lovely roof!
The top opens so you could peek inside to see who’s at home!
Gisela add a brown felt base to her woodland cottage.

Jzin Added A Little White Boat
This boat was an experiment in wet-felting. Conclusion: do not use corrugated cardboard as armature for a boat. It gets soggy during wet-felting and you cannot needle-felt over the cardboard in the end.
… but it was fun to experiment!
midnight boat ride.

Julie Made a Large Tree
A large majestic tree. Alas, we will have to wait to see it after it’s wet felted.

Christine Made Some Woodland Animals
Christine made these two adorable hedgehogs for our playscape.
Christine whipped up this knitted bunny in no time during the morning!
The little bunny invited himself over to the little cottage in the woods.

I Needle-Felted Some Grass and Meadow Flowers
Using regular and thick pencil yarn, I needle-felted grass and meadow flowers to the playscape blanket.
Should I cut the grass and make them stand upright or leave them uncut and loopy? “Loopy!” was the unanimous vote. Here’s the loopy grass…
My favorite needle-felting “pen”. This one works well if you are working with smaller items such as miniature dolls and details. It takes 3 needles and comes with a cap. I recommend it. You can get these from Amazon.com.

Nunu Added Flowers
Since the next week is ski week and we do not meet for craft group, I brought the playscape blanket home to work on.
Wednesday. February 13, 2013. My second grader added flowers to an area by the waterfalls. For this work, she tucked her small felt foam board underneath the playscape.
After dinner, we added some TLC to the playscape. Nunu needle-felting the “grass” down around the flowers.
February 16, 2013. Before you know it, we have more needle-felters at home during school break.
Nunu (8 years old) and Anicka (7 years old) in their ballet buns and leotards needle-felting geodes.
