Thursday, January 18, 2024 8:45am – 12:45pm. Craft Group met again for the first time in 2024!

Cathy Scott and Nina Jones taught Craft Group to embroider felt hearts in time for Saint Valentine’s Day in February. The supply fee for this craft was $10.

Nina and Cathy prepared some embroidery heart samples as references.

We traced and cut out felt hearts, using the heart templates prepared by Nina. Cathy taught us a hack – affixing the smaller beige heart onto the blue one with Elmer’s glue prevented the two felt pieces from moving in the process of stitching them together.

Sketching out wildflower composition using Cathy’s special Frixon Clicker 07 Erasable ink crafting pen.

Cathy showed us some embroidery stitches: blanket stitch, chain stitch, lazy daisy, french knots, leaf stitch, satin stitch, whip stitch…. Thank you Cathy for sharing your wealth of knowledge!

Monday 1/22/24 I worked on my unfinished wildflowers, hiding mistaken orange embroidery floss sewing under many more French knots!

The next day… Shirley made a few more to donate to Elves Workshop 2024.

January 23, 2023. Yay! I finished my wildflowers heart (below)! It was a soothing and enjoyable craft. Thank you Cathy and Nina – I am hooked! I want to embroider more!

February 6, 2024. Shirley shared with us the many felt heart she has made since craft group gathering! Gasp! They are gorgeous!
