SCENES FROM TODAY

Thursday, February 15, 2024. Huntington Beach.

Alena taught our Craft Group yet another Homesteading Craft today. Thank you Julia Baker for taking photos of the class. Below are notes written by Julia…

Making sautéed chicken liver with onion …

… paired with mashed potatoes made with raw milk, cream, and butter.

Chicken pate, which was served with homemade multigrain bread, sauerkraut, and egg salad. I unfortunately forgot to take a photo with all of it together .

And Alena’s kombucha. Alena, what was the berry that it was flavored with?

We also had a wonderful creamy giblet stew …

… finished with roux and sherry.

And of course she also spoiled us with maple vanilla ice cream and caramelized plantains with cinnamon and nutmeg.

… with a warm goose egg freshly picked from the garden!
